Wheel and tire search tabs
The By Wheels and By Tires tabs of the Year Make Model Tabs block let customers find products by size. They are off by default and need wheel or tire products with size attributes.
1. Put wheels and tires into collections
Section titled “1. Put wheels and tires into collections”Convermax treats a product as a wheel or a tire only when it belongs to a collection named Wheels or Tires (or to a Wheels / Tires category in your category tree). Products outside these collections are not included in the tabs, even if they have wheel or tire metafields.
2. Add the size attributes
Section titled “2. Add the size attributes”Convermax takes the attributes from the first available source:
- A wheels and tires data integration, matched by vendor and SKU
- Product metafields in the
convermaxnamespace (see below) - The product and variant titles, when they contain the size (for example,
225/45R17)
To use metafields, fill all the required ones for each product. The full list with types and import templates is in Using Metafields for Wheel and Tire Product Attributes.
| Tab | Required metafields |
|---|---|
| By Wheels | convermax.wheel_diameter, convermax.wheel_width, convermax.wheel_bolt_pattern |
| By Tires | convermax.tire_width, convermax.tire_aspect_ratio, convermax.tire_rim |
convermax.tire_size alone does not enable the By Tires tab. Other convermax.wheel_* and convermax.tire_* metafields (offset, bore, load index, speed rating) are optional.
3. Re-index and check the filters
Section titled “3. Re-index and check the filters”- In the Convermax app → Home, click Update now on the Search index card and wait for indexing to finish.
- In the Convermax app → Settings → Filters, make sure the wheel and tire filters are turned on (see Creating and managing filters).
A tab becomes available when at least one of its filters has values and is turned on.
4. Enable the tabs in the block
Section titled “4. Enable the tabs in the block”- Open the theme editor and select the Year Make Model Tabs block (Home page or Header group).
- Under Tabs Visibility, turn on ‘Wheels’ tab and/or ‘Tires’ tab.
- Click Save.
If a tab has no data, the theme editor shows it greyed out with an explanation, and customers don’t see it.
