Look for this in the admin under Settings → Tax

This is where tax zones are created - by country/state/postal code

The zone can be further customized by customer groups (if a customer account is not in any of these groups, this zone will not apply to them)

Tax rates are set for each zone

General tax settings are there.

You can also set up a tax fallback there - which zone from Basic Tax to use as default when there is no information on the customer’s country:

Setup on our side

  • Enable the bigcommerce-taxes.yaml schema.

  • Set up sending information about the customer’s tax zone from the client (country code in case of a zone configured by country).

  • If BigCommerce has a filter by customer group enabled for tax zones, request the appropriate access, connect bigcommerce-customergroups.yaml and set up sending customerGroupId from the client
